I have always been fascinated by nature's designs and natural processes. I am a trained biologist and a long time gardener, canner, birder, seamstress, crafter, , wife, and mother. Through the years I have made dozens of Halloween and stage costumes, quilts, place-mats, gourd bird houses, and crafts made of driftwood from Lake Ontario. After raising our children I returned to my first love, expressing myself and my appreciation of nature through art. I find great fulfillment in that expression and I use many different media. Most recently, my focus has been on useful pieces made from gourds and religious garments . I now grow all my gourds and collect local, natural materials in a sustainable way. I love showing each gourd's unique personality and sharing this gift of the outdoors through artistic design. About the time my garden began to be overrun with gourds, my church gained an Associate Pastor who asked if I made clergy stoles. I took up that challenge and use the colors of the spectrum to create uniquely patterned clergy stoles and other custom garments. Recently I have sewn what look like stained glass window panels with intertwining initials at the center, as wedding gifts for my nieces and nephews. I enjoy both bringing out the natural designs that I see in my materials and adapting descriptions of custom orders into the things that my clients love.
